Meet The Staff


Charlotte FitzRoy MA BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Charlotte graduated from Bristol University in July 2012 and has worked at Brook House since February 2013. She enjoys all aspects of small animal veterinary work and has a special interest in exotics. She had previously graduated with an MA in History of Art and Architectural History at Edinburgh University.

She loves ginger animals and is the proud owner of two, the now practice dog ‘Dr Ludo’ and a horse called Alfie. Her two young tortoises are also a constant source of entertainment. Her only claim to fame is getting run over by a zebra on ITVs Safari Vet School. She loves being out in the countryside, riding and good food.

Support team

Dr Ludo joined the team in February 2013. Since then he has been a huge part of our very popular facebook page. He is particularly interested in rabbits and has a passion for collecting rocks and climbing trees. He can be found in the tea room where he likes to be centre of attention.

Student Veterinary Nurses

Lily completed a national extended diploma in Animal Management at Sparsholt college in July 2014, graduating with a distinction*. During her time studying, she volunteered at Brook House Veterinary Centre and then joined the team full time as a trainee Veterinary Nurse in August 2014.

Lily has also previously achieved a Level 2 Dog grooming qualification and a certificate in Animal Care.

Lily enjoys all aspects of working within the veterinary environment and has a keen interest in surgery and radiography.

In her spare time Lily enjoys swimming and spending time with her Labrador (Bella) as well as her friends and family. She has a profound interest in marine biology and hopes to expand her knowledge of this subject in the future. She also likes to travel and would love the opportunity to travel to Australia and South Africa to gain some voluntary experience working with their wildlife once qualified.


Alyson Powell


Aly joined Brook House in November 2008. She previously spent 10 years working in the healthcare sector managing a domiciliary care agency providing one to one support to the elderly and disabled in the community with a special interest in palliative care.

Aly enjoys socialising, walking, travelling and dog sitting for her brother’s two pointers, George and Reuben.
